| Thankyou both. I really do love this hobby and, though my day job involves working with nature, I'm relatively new to it. Starlite, you can see plenty more on my website here . . Gelert Photography and, browsing the pictures is, of course, completely free. | |

| It's really wonderful when ones hobby and day job are things you really love and enjoy. Gelert I am curious about a couple of pictures. The one that is labeled Sudeley the home of Catherine Howard. Is that the same Catherine Howard who was the fifth wife of Henry the VIII ? And the picture of Sudeley Church. Is that the same church that was in The Lost Crown ? I hope you have great success with your new venture hatshepsut | |

| hi hats
No. There are so, so many churches like that one, and even prettier ones too. As for Queen Katherine Parr (not Howard). Yes. That's the lady. Sudeley is very rich in history. Richard III also stayed there. Also, Henry himself, Anne Boleyn, Lady Jane Grey, Queen Elizabeth I all visited or stayed there. King Charles the 1st hid there during the civil war. Sudeley is the only privately owned castle in England in whose grounds a Queen is buried; In that church. | |

| Wow! Your photos are gorgeous, Gelert! You have a good eye for catching the right moment. I've done some amateur nature photography myself, and I know it takes a lot of patience to get a good shot, especially with uncooperative critters. Best of luck with it! | |

| Hi Gelert
Yes I have seen many pictures and drawings of churches just as pretty as Sudeley. But I really like the way Sudeley church looks, it is lovely. I saw a drawing of how it looked after it was first built in a book I read. Thanks for the clarification of who owned Sudeley castle. With that many notable persons gracing the walls at one time or another it is indeed steeped in history. Which queen is buried there within the grounds ?

| hi hats, That's Queen Katherine Parr, herself. I used to visit there most Springtimes. They would have jousting tournaments there and polo matches too. Everyone was dressed in medieval garb. It was really atmospheric. Unfortunately, they seemed to have stopped that, but it's still beautiful to visit, especially the gardens. | |

| My favorite photo is the second one with the fence and wildflowers. The others are nice and very interesting, but ... I clicked on Gelert Photography and got the message that "our widget doesn't work on IE8" and I should upgrade or change browsers. Who, me? | |

| Hi Gelert
I thought it was probably Katherine Parr who was buried there. I don't think I've ever seen a picture of the gardens. But descriptions I've read of the gardens in Katherine Parr's time sounded beautiful. I think it would be wonderful to dress up in medievil garb and watch a jousting tournament. It's to bad they have stopped doing it. You have so many really interesting and pretty places there that you can visit.

| Gelert! Wow, I never knew that this was a passion of yours. My goodness, seems like you have a talent in many different areas. Thanks for sharing your webpage with the rest of us. Which camera is your tool of choice? I had a few fellows I worked with that were really into photography and would talk for hours about the camera they had and all the settings it offered as well as the expensive lenses and extras one could buy to supplement the already super expensive camera, he he. | |
