Always When You Don't Have A Camera Empty
PostSubject: Always When You Don't Have A Camera   Always When You Don't Have A Camera EmptyWed Jun 09, 2010 3:51 pm

Good day fellow gamers,

As of late I've been taking to feeding Blue Jays peanuts. They sit on the fence outside my kitchen door and call for me to feed them. I'm trying to train one to take the peanut out of my hand so I can get a picture of it.

I love the way they take the nuts to my Lilac tree and pick them open like a Woodpecker. I had a couple of loose peanuts out of the shell so I threw those out. Well the Jay came down, took a peanut, then went to my rose garden. I seen it digging in the dirt. I thought it was looking for a worm. The Jay buried the nut then got a rock and put it over where he buried it. Unbelievable!

Then this morning, kitty was in the backyard making the rounds when all of a sudden hubby heard this weird noise that he never heard before. So I come into the kitchen and hubby is going out the door yelling get out of there. I went outside with him and there in the lilac tree were two beautiful baby raccoons. I guess when they seen kitty they started crying for their mommy who didn't show up. They left my yard and went into my neighbor's, who has taken to feeding all kinds of animals. Hopefully she'll take care of them. They were so cute though. We tried to get a picture of them but they climbed up the tree too far and my camera is a piece of garbage. sunny

It is just so fascinating to watch animals and see what they do. I hope the little baby racoons are ok Smile

Good day gamers,

An update on the Blue Jay front. He's getting closer now. He's landing on the BBQ which is only a few feet from the backdoor. The only problem is every time he gets close to landing on my hand to take the nut, about 3 or 4 squirrels run up to the door then he flies away. Then to top that off, black birds have been hanging around the fence trying to take the peanuts. So I'm going to try it again when it's just the Blue Jay by himself. He's taken to landing on the screen door now and squawking at the door to get my attention. As soon as I can get a picture I will post it. Keep your fingers crossed for a landing. sunny
