I remember one or two amazing examples, but can't lay my hands on the screenshots at the moment.
One was a bar scene from Silverload and from one of the Monkey Island games (don't remember which).
Another is of the maze in Mystery of the Druids and, I think, Jack Orlando (I may be suffering from failing memory on this one, but I think that's right).
