I was down the local real ale hostelry last Friday and we were asking each other a few trivia questions - mostly football (real football!).
Something had occurred to me earlier in the week when I heard that Jeff Bridges was one of the nominees for best actor, at the Oscars, for the 'True Grit' remake.
The question is, and it's plagued me since, . . . . Has there ever before been an instance when the lead actor in a remake movie has won Best Actor Oscar, repeating the feat of the original lead actor (in this case the fantastic John Wayne)?
We couldn't think of one. Anyone know? Surely this question must be 'doing the rounds' on movie forums.
