| Hi Mikael and welcome to Adventure Point I hope you can stop by when you aren't too busy to talk to us about your games. Are there plans for Carol Reed to have another adventure ? Mikael is the indie developer of MDNA Games who brings us all the Carol Reed Mystery adventure games. Hi Ang thanks for adding the MDNA link hatshepsut | |

Oh. I like that crazy tattooed character (gardener, pool cleaner or something) from Mikael's Carol Reed adventures. Still have to play one of those games, though.

| Hi! This is Mikael from MDNA Games in Sweden. I’ve been asked by Gelert at your forum to drop by and tell you something about my new game, “Amber’s Blood: A Carol Reed Mystery”. Although I gladly talk about my games, I never know where to begin when asked questions like that... I’ve been working longer on this game than any of the previous games (I’m getting slower for each year) and I really think that it’s the best in the series this far. Someone who has played games from the series before will recognize the interface, and meet some familiar characters. The game is entirely based on photographs and real-life locations. Among other things, you will get to enter and explore an abandoned psychiatric institution for the criminally insane and a half-submerged cruise ship. More info can be found on our web site. A playable demo is available on the site. You can also find a walkthrough for the game there. We're going abroad to shoot the first scenes for the next game at the end of this month. If anyone has any questions concerning my games, feel free to ask! Regards, Mikael | |

| Hi Mikael. First question I have concerns a comment you make that I'm intrigued by. Next game? Abroad? Where? Any other pointers regarding your next game? Gelert. Oh .... and, on behalf of everyone at Adventure Point, a warm

| Hi Mikael and welcome to Adventure Point.
So the next Carol Reed mystery will be taking place abroad ? Will this be the first game that Carol goes abroad ? If so what made you decide to have the game take place abroad ?

| Well, technically all the Carol Reed games take place abroad for a non-Swede We’re going to shoot some scenes very far from here, but it’s too early to say where or why. The reason I’m doing that is because I found a place that simply begged to be photographed, but also to get a reason to leave icy cold Sweden for a week. No, it’s not the first game that feature scenes from outside Sweden. Black Circle, for example, has some scenes from Israel (but is disguised in the game). The ending scene takes place in a cave, which is the birth place of Virgin Mary in Nazareth in real life. | |

| Thanks for the answer Mikael. I guess for me technically the adventures would all be abroad hatshepsut | |

| I love Mikaels Carol Reed games. They are a nice break from the routine and with the beautiful photography a nice getaway to interesting places. | |

Now I have only 7 more Carol Reed games to play. This weekend I (started &) finished Remedy, and it seems that I have a new favo(u)rite series of AGs. I liked the plot, the exploration, the puzzles, the graphics, the characters (finally you deal with the real life flesh & blood people who drink, idle and blackmail and don't try to save the whole world in a serious adventure game) and the flawless gameplay of Remedy. I even got to learn more (in a way that was fun) about a nice-looking town/city of Norrkoping, Sweden. Well done, MDNA games! P.S. Even the music was great (save for the slightly monotonous piano in Carol's/Lovisa's place), and I usually don't care much for in-game music.

| Glad to hear that you enjoyed Remedy a Carol Reed Mystery. I didn't get into the series until Mikael got rid of the water color filter he used in his earlier games. I couldn't stand looking at the screen and it would give me a headache. (not a pastel guy I guess) Once he started toning down the filter the actual photographs were beautiful and games took on another dimension in that you could visit real places that you haven't seen before. Almost like a vacation. And now since Mikael has completely phased out any filters you can appreciate the landscapes and his great photography skills. The games are a very nice diversion from the norm and I hope he never stops making them. I have since gone back and played all the original games once I was hooked on the game play. Have you started any more? | |

I had no such problem. I quickly got used to the looks of Remedy. - GreyFuss wrote:

The graphics in Remedy looks more like aquarelle/watercolo(u)r to me. - GreyFuss wrote:

Me too. I like AGs that play flawlessly (no glitches, no bugs, no huge hardware requirements, no crap at all). - GreyFuss wrote:

Not yet, but I will. | |
