The need to make a Myst-like game
Like many people I was amazed by Myst in 1993. This game had a unique ambiance, a feeling of total immersion and the rewarding side of the puzzle solving. This is the best selling game in the world until the release of The Sims in 2002. Subsequently, other Myst-like are came out but not so many. It is true that the design of this type of game is not the easiest thing to do and seduce the next generation of player seems very difficult. However, I think many people would like to see a rebirth of this kind of game. So I decide to create one by myself.. It’s not an easy thing to achieve but this could be the first step of a great journey. I hope.

Confirmed that Codename: Hypnosis is, in fact, a....codename, working title. Not the actual title.

Hmm, the story sounds so familiar to me. If you have played a few casual Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure (HOPA) games, you will know what I mean!

Doesn't mention where though but they have set up a PayPal page at the games web site.

Great news. I'm hopeful that games like this will be a novel experience to a generation of people that missed out on the Myst phenomena. Here's hoping the puzzles are good (fingers crossed).

It's a big concern. In the recent past all the Myst-influenced games have fallen into two categories - graphically stunning with poor or non-existent puzzles (Anna, Drawn, 1953) or great puzzles and dull graphics (Rhem, Corrosion: Cold Winter Waiting). Very few have been able to strike a good balance.

Only three save slots?
That's really bold.

I already bought it. Three save slots is really not enough for such a game.....

Understandable. At minimum I like a save at the beginning of each chapter (if applicable) and with this type of game I usually save before any type of player interaction with the environment. Just to be safe.

I looked but can't seem to find any system requirements listed. Usually that means it's just for Windows but can anyone confirm that?

Can't add anymore than you have probably discovered for yourself. I have seen no mention of a Mac version. The system requirements listed on the web page is...

I downloaded the game and can confirm that it's beautiful and intriguing, but....
I had a chock when I got aware that it was keyboard driven. I can't believe it... I hated Uru for that.

I have seen a lot of clues for what -seem to be- gorgeous puzzles, but I wonder if I'll never manage to reach them. SIGH!
