Update For Alter Ego

Alter Ego is finished and Noviy Disk who has worldwide rights is working on the release now. Hopefully everything will go smoothly and will be released in the near future.

I was unable to get a confirmation as to whether the planned Mac version was done or not.

Synopsis:

In the town of Plymouth the body of recently buried Sir William disappears under strange circumstances. This peculiar news would not stir such tremendous public interest if it was not Sir William himself. He was investigated several times during his life and although the police never managed to press charges against him, scary legends about his bloody crimes live on among the town people. There were only a few left who were willing to serve him and were brave enough to stand the look at his lifeless face. And most of them run away in horror after his death and series of murders that followed it. Police are helpless and not able to move forward with the case. The town is thrown into a state of panic and fear.

You are welcome winfrey. I've been watching this game for quite awhile now too. New games yes I just love it. And it's beginning to look like we will be rewarded with our patients with the release of more new games in the first part of this year.

bitComposer GAMES has released a trailer and new screenshots for Alter Ego. They will be releasing the Alter Ego in the 1st Q of 2010.

Shows how behind I am these days. After reading the headline I immediately thought of the 1986 classic from Activision

Anyway, that one remains a terrific game even today

I hope this game does get finished and released some day in the near future as it does sound very interesting to me. I like playing two characters and these two being so different from each other should be fun to play.

Finished or not, those release dates can be tricky. Some get changed several times. I had Dead Mountaineer's Hotel on pre-order for almost a year, date kept changing, I finally cancelled order. Then the news came out that the game makers went broke or something and the game will never be released, too bad.

Yes the release date of a game is always subject to change. The publisher that Alter Ego is with is saying to expect a 1st quarter release.

Dead Mountaneer's Hotel was released in Germany and Russia. The North America Publisher who was publishing Dead Mountaineer's Hotel along with several other games went bankrupt. Negotiations for publishing Dead Mountaineer's Hotel in North America have been ongoing. Hopefully a publisher will be found and the game released in the near future.

By any chance, does anyone know how well, or poorly, as the case may be, the game is doing in Germany and Russia? I think North American publishers are quick to note the "bottom line" before they invest in an adventure game. Or any game for that matter.

The reason I'm asking is because I think if the game sold really well in Europe, some publisher might take a chance on it here, but if the sales were poor, then there is no way it will ever cross the ocean and maybe that would be just as well. I was so wanting to play the game, which is why I am still interested in it, but honestly, after all this time, should I be?

I don't know how well it sold in Germany or Russia. But over all adventure games seem to sell better in Europe than what they do in North America. And yes these days the publishers are being more cautious. The publishing business is a little tricky at best. There were several Publishers that went out of business and several that merged with bigger companies in the last year. In the case of Dead Mountaineer's Hotel the North America Publisher held the publishing rights and it took some time for the publishing rights to be regained. I hope that the game is picked up and released in the near future. Dead Mountaineer's Hotel is a game that I have anticipated for a long time also. The thing to keep in mind is that sometimes it may take a year or more for a game to get a North America release.

Can they afford to wait a year or more? Just think how many computers will have been replaced by newer ones by then and the game will be too old to play on them. Not to mention (but I will anyway) that some gamers might be too old also.

No I don't believe a developer or a publisher can easily afford to wait a year or more to release a game, for the obvious reasons and then some reasons that aren't so obvious. Yes newer computers certainly become problematic for playing older games, and the release of win 7 certainly caused some problems to gamers and developers.

To get back to Alter Ego...time has been passing these past few days so hopefully we are getting closer and closer to that release date. For this game I still do have my hopes! I would cross my fingers, but it is too hard to use the mouse that way. I did knock on wood (my desk) to bring good luck.

Alter Ego yes I feel pretty confident that Noviy Disk will be releasing the game in March or soon after. It is a planned world wide release.

I do keep my hopes for Dead Mountneer's Hotel also.

I just read on amazon's UK site that Dead Mountaineer's Hotel is being released there on September 30th. Hopefully that's good news for us and leads to a release here in the U.S.

Yes I was reading somewhere else of a possible UK release of The Dead Mountaineers Hotel later this year. If it does release in the UK I do hope we can get copies of it or get a release here.
