| Reading 'The Master and Margarita' by Bulgakov. Excellent. I don't like Stephen King I'm afraid. | |

| I broke my own advice to me about not reading any more books by Stephen King and bought 11/22/63 and reading it on my Kindle. I'm about halfway through it and I'm sorry I started, but now I have to finish or otherwise it will haunt me. I can't even begin to imagine a good ending though, not for the poor guy who got himself into the mess he is in. What was he thinking ... or maybe more to the point, what was I thinking?

| That's mighty thoughtful of you, winfrey, but I can't make up my mind, yes or no, or maybe a maybe? I think for now I will just try to read faster! I know that he can't change what happened on 11/22/63 so I feel sure he will fail there, or succeed, but then go back and undo it. At this point I'm more worried about the relationship with Sadie and how that turns out. After all, she is an innocent bystander and liable to be really hurt by George's shenanigans. One thing, your offer of help has suddenly given me more incentive to keep on reading as it is like a failsafe in case I need it, like a security blanket. | |

| I haven't read any of The Black Dagger Brotherhood series yet. Lover Reborn sounds good. Right now I'm reading Envious Casca by Georgette Heyer.

| I read several of Salinger's works in high school, including Catcher in the Rye, Franny and Zooey, and Raise High the Roof Beams, Carpenter. I remember liking him better than most of the other American authors we studied that year.
I finished The Prague Cemetery by Umberto Eco and Intruder by C.J. Cherryh and am now reading Words by Ginny L. Yttrup.

| I finally finished the second book in the 'Game of Thrones' series. I may have to netflix season 1 of the HBO show to see how well it tracks the first book...
I also finished 'The Hunger Games' part 1 of the trilogy I guess. It was a quick read compared to the Game of Thrones. (understatement)
Next up is likely 'Gideon's Cross' co-authored by Child & Preston

| So I've finally finished 11/22/63, and that's the best part. It ended the only way it could end, no big surprise there. In a way Stephen King let me down: There was no horror in the book (some violence though) which was good, but the main character annoyed me no end, which was bad. The dance at the end was very sweet and nice, I really enjoyed that part. It made up for the rest of the, mostly boring to me, book. | |

| uh-oh, mindysue, your take on 11/22/63 is making me think I'll find it a bit dry as well. I hope that's not the case. | |

| If you read a book for the story, you will probably like 11/22/63 since it is a good story, I will say that. However, I always look for something else, some connection with the characters, the author, and the way the story comes across to me. The book just didn't have that *something* for me, except at the very end when it totally reached me. I found that to be special and the only part I really enjoyed and felt in tune with, or whatever. I can't explain it since I don't know what it is myself. I have a strong hunch you will like it, lakerz. | |

| I like the Dark Tower series also Winfrey, they are pretty unique and different than the other King books. Isn't he supposed to be coming out with a new Dark Tower book this year?
Right now I'm reading the new Robert Crais book called 'Taken'. After that I might start the third 'Game of Thrones' book or maybe take on the 11/22/63

| I'm a few hundred pages into 11/22/63, and thus far I am enjoying the plot. It is an interesting concept!
I also read a few Thomas Perry books that I missed out on when they were first released. I recommend him to those who enjoy humor with their detective mystery. I particularly liked his early books, 'Butchers Boy' and 'Metzgers Dog'. 'The Informant' was good also.

| I finally finished 11/22/63! It took long enough, LOL. I did like it though, probably give it a solid 8.5 out of 10 on the lakerz scale. Now I will read some quick Janet Evanovich books that I missed over the years and then probably take on another lengthy book, the third book in the 'Game of Thrones' series. | |
