| Ok - let's start a thread about Classic Adventure Games You Own?
I'm still learning my my game titles - I brought Liath, Reah, IHNMAIMS which I have never heard of even 6 months ago, and I definitely don't know what category a game falls into - rare, obscure, classic, etc. |

| Hello pointers. I kept posting pics of my latest new arrivals in the obscure games thread here at AP, until someone here told me a new game I just got wasn't obscure but classic - so I'd like to start a thread to see what classic games all of you own. And if more than 1 person owns this or that game, the other people are welcome to post pics of the same game just to see how many people own that game and to see how popular that game is.
You guys go first. |

| Okay K515. I'll name a few games that I'd call Classics. I can think of others, but I'll let someone else mention them: Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars - Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars on Adventure Point Grim Fandango - Grim Fandango on Adventure Point LucasArts, 'The Dig' - The Dig on Adventure Point 'The Longest Journey' - The Longest Journey on Adventure Point Discworld Noir - Discworld Noir on Adventure PointI'd call a game a 'Classic' if it's a game that I think everyone should play at least once. It doesn't mean that EVERYONE will find that game their cup of tea of course. 'Classic' is very much a subjective choice of course. That's why this thread could be an interesting one, K515. Thanks. | |

| K515 as Gelert says classic is a somewhat a subjective choice. There are some games that everyone considers classic and then there are games that everyone argues whether they are really classic or not. I think everyone would agree that Reah, Ark of Time and IHNMAIMS are classics. The rest of the games you listed while I would recommend them, I don't think I would call them classic. (although that Dracula Origin box might be classic ) I have all the games you listed in my collection Nice list of games Gelert. Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templers is a favorite of mine. I still have the others you listed sitting in my to play pile. A few classics I have that I would recommend: Flight of the Amazon Queen Blackstone Chronicles Titanic Adventure Out of Time Tex Murphy Martian Memorandum hatshepsut | |

| When I think of classic adventure games, the first word that drops into my brain is LucasArts.
Monkey Island games Full Throttle Grim Fandango Maniac Mansion plus sequel Sam & Max
The list just goes on and on...

| I agree with most of the titles in the above posts being classics...
Personally, I think 'I have no Mouth, and I must Scream', is one of my favourite adventures all time.
And, indeed, Obsidian is a game that should be played by all adventure fans.......

| My daughter got her Titanic game for 19.99. I believe she still has it. Is that considered a classic? I will have to tell her not to get rid of it, if it is. | |

| How good is 'Tender Loving Care' Faust? I snagged it recently. It looks a bit raunchy! | |

| I'm not sure, as I haven't had the chance to play yet . It's on my "to play" pile . Just for kicks, I'm going to try an install on Microsoft's "problem child", see what happens . | |

| I have:
Grim Fandango Noir: A Shadowy Thriller and Tender Loving Care
all in big boxes also.
All of them sitting in my to play pile so I can't answer the question abut Tender Loving Care. But from the description on the box I would say it might be a bit 'raunchy'.

| I may have to put TLC on the top of my "to play" pile . That is, if I don't get distracted by another game ! I did get the game installed on MS's "problem child", that being , Vista . Installed normally , no issues . | |

| I loved TLC. I wouldn't use the word "raunchy" in a description but I would call it "titillating". It has what I consider a fantastic story but I wouldn't really call it a "game" I played it on my TV while on the treadmill with the remote.
The term "Classic" has to be very subjective to the gamer. I would have to say that I disagree with 90% of what gamers call classic games as I didn't get into them until 1995.
