| I've had several PM's from memebers today wondering if I edited a post made yesterday. For all our other members who may be wondering. I did not edit the post in question. I do not edit members post except for the following reasons : if a poster includes thier personal information or that of another person I will edit that information out. If a member ask me to edit something out because they do not know how do it I will edit for that member. The post in question was edited by the poster.

| Hmm, one of my posts was edited with 4 stars which I thought somewhat spoiled the effect of the punchline, but so be it. I guess the program for that forum was the sissy! | |

| To explain, or mystify as the case may be (kidding), the program automatically put in 4 stars instead of the F-word, which was sort of softened by using the *en'* for its ending rather than *ing* which to my mind is somewhat harsher. I got the joke in a forwarded email which circulates among who-knows-how-many others and I copied it exactly so I thought it was safe to post in a forum. I never expected it to be edited, that came as a surprise. Which is why I feel putting in 4 stars was a sissy thing to do. Especially in this day and age! | |

I think I understand , I think . Perhaps you should've asked myself , or another mod about this "joke" before you even posted , would've saved everyone involved a lot of trouble ! | |

| Many forums have certain filters in place that automatically change the text. Most put them in place because people of all ages use the sites. Usually it's just asterisks, but JA had some of the funniest replacements, including flipper burns, von glower, and don't go down there. | |

| I love the idea of the silly replacements... How about "darn those beavers." And, yes, the filters are there for a reason. Although salty language is not a problem for me, it may be for someone else. | |

| Speaking of "salty language" reminds me of that phrase one comes across now and then: "He swears like a sailor." I immediately want to know how a sailor swears whenever I come across it, but so far nobody has told me, so I still don't know. Of course, I realize no one can help me here, so I will just have to go on wondering about it, I guess! | |

| It's probably related to the same language I hear when my husband is working on something that is not going well. I call it the "blue cloud" that rises up over his head and hangs there. | |

| Wow!, a "blue cloud", now that is really impressive! I learned a few new words when I got married, but nothing like that. What an education you must have, I envy you. And I don't say that lightly, believe you me, very few I envy since money, fame, or a great collection of AGs don't mean much to me. | |

| Speaking of "salty language"...I always buy the 12 funniest Christmas cards I can each year and distribute them at the Christmas eve family gathering. It's always fun as they pass the cards around and enjoy a good laugh together....my gift to them. Anyway, Target is a good source for funny cards. This year a couple of them had words of the "four letter variety" that I would never have thought would be published in a greeting card! I have to admit, they were the two funniest cards there, and it was one of the milder expletives of the vast number available. | |

| Four letter Christmas cards? Now that's interesting , but of course, love is also a four letter word, isn't it? | |
