| I'm thinking of ordering myself a boxed copy of BM2 from Mamba, but I'll have to wait until after we pick up my mac from the Apple store Sat., as I think there's a chance that I'll be able to buy Rhem 4 (PC/Mac) while I'm there, if not, then I'll have to order both BM2 and Rhem 4 from Mamba, otherwise I'll order BM2 only from Mamba.
Regarding the problems people were having with mamba concerning where their credit cards came from, we have a paypal acc't and a debit card acc't with our bank that's used exclusively for buying PC games and other computer-related stuff online. Might there be any problems using the debit card acc't (instead of our PP acc't)?
I'm trying an experiement to see what happens when I try to buy a boxed copy of BM2 - game goes into my cart > I click on "checkout" button > I come to a blank page bearing the message:
"There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website has expired or is not yet valid. Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server. We recommend that you close this webpage and do not continue to this website. Click here to close this webpage. Continue to this website (not recommended)."
Mind you, even though it says "sign in/register" at the top of the main webpage, I've tried this experiment of buying BM2 without bothering to register beforehand. I don't think I've ever registered with LaceMamba in the past, to my knowledge (since 2008)
Do any of you guys know what's going on here?

| Alien I do not know since I only order from Dave. But I would say the message is self explanatory. Apparently the websites security isn't secure. If that is the case then any information you gave them wouldn't be secure. I'm curious why you are trying to buy from this website considering the trouble others have been having and the message you have received.

Because I tried to order BM2 from Dave at Interact a couple of days ago, I typed "Black mirror 2" in Interact's search box, and I got a message that there was no such items in their database - I wish I could've ordered BM2 several weeks ago from Dave when you told me! How am I going to get BM2 now??

Do you know if it will become available again at Interact? Has the game became kind of rare? Do you know how often Dave gets in a new shipment so as to the availability of these kind of games? What will happen if I contact Dave by email and let him know that when a BM2 becomes available, I want it?

| Alien I do not know when Black Mirror II will become available again to us in NA. No Black Mirror II has not become rare, it is still available in Europe. The problem there being that the games aren't in English. Black Mirror II hasn't been released in NA. The copies that Dave had were imports. With import games the number of games are limited and very often when those are gone Dave may not be able to obtain more copies until there is a NA release. The situation we have right now with Black Mirror II is the very reason that GreyFuss and I have emphasized over and over to pre order these imports. You can ask Dave but with the imports he often doesn't know if or when he will get more copies.

Well, is it possible to place a pre-order with Dave now for BM2? I didn't know that BM2 was an import. What about the first BM? Is this an import, also? Why is the first BM readily available? It seems crazy.

| ABZ....
Fewer European games are finding North American publishers. That's why the majority of games are becoming imports any longer.
FYI...you may wish to try Ebay again for BM2. I see one listed as a "buy it now." Always check the reviews on the sellers at Ebay to make sure you are not buying a pirated copy.

Yes, I'm looking at it now. But I don't know if I should buy it because it's in the PAL format -Format: PAL (AU, NZ, UK standard) . If this didn't make any difference I'd buy it without hesitation. What do you guys say? Should I buy this one? This seller has a 99 % positive feedback, and is located in London, UK.

| Alien you would just have to ask Dave if he would notify you if he got more copies. Black Mirror is readily available because it had a North America publisher, Black Mirror II does not have a North America publisher. If you notice that the games I have told about On the Horizon I have tried to put the information whether or not the game would get a NA publisher or would be an import. Alien when considering a game it is important information. Just as jkeerie says fewer and fewer games are finding NA publishers. I would take jkeeries advice and check ebay and please purchase only from a reliable dealer.

| Alien the PAL format does not apply to computer games. It only applys to console games. Would you please send me the link so I can see what you are looking at.

| ABZ...PAL refers to the DVD format. The one on Ebay is the official UK release of the game. I'll have to check my copy of Black Mirror 2 and see if it specifies the format. I haven't played it yet, but I did install it and it runs fine. | |

Thanks, JK. I believe that your copy of BM2 does have the PAL format. I'm going to play the game (I've just bought this ebay copy that you mentioned) on the new PC that I'm going to build, and it's going to have a DL DVD burner installed in it. I'll be waiting for you to get back to me on the format that your copy of BM2 is in. You're running XP, right?

Yes, for this reason I always use a website called gamestracker.com to determine the best price and availability from UK retailers. Make sure to double check the shipping charge from the individual sellers as it is not always accurate on the gamestracker page.

| I bought the game from a UK retailer and I don't see anything on the disc or within the 52 page game manual with a reference to PAL. As Hats mentioned earlier PAL only affects console game and DVD videos but not computer games.
Rest assured Alien, the game will work just fine for you. If the computer you plan to build has 512MB VRAM you will be able to play it on the highest settings.

| I went back to check on ebay to see if that seller has any more copies of BM2 out of curiosity - but this time the only BM2 listing was a bundle of 3 games that included the first BM, and no more listings for BM2. I just printed out the invoices of the ebay BM2 purchase, and I think the game is going to be shipped airmail, although my invoice says "standard delivery." Anyone know what this means and how long it'll take to get to West Mifflin?
It looks like I was lucky to get this BM2 (the only listing) today as the game seems so hard to get. I saw this listing a couple of days ago, and am mighty glad that the auction was set to 20 days left when I first saw this listing, that it had a Buy It Now button on it, and that I ended up as the lucky buyer!
Thank you so much for bringing up that ebay listing for BM2, JKeerie. Although I saw it a few days ago, I had completely forgotten about it - and I was getting so despirate to obtain a copy of BM2 last night that I was ready to take a chance and try to order from LaceMamba. Does wnyone know what sort of trouble I saved myself by buying the game on ebay instead of from MambaGames?

| Alien concerning standard delivery what it means is that the game will be sent by air mail but will be delivered to you by the postman.
Last summer it took about a week for a game to be delivered to me from the UK. This being Christmas time it might take a little longer but I would about a week to two weeks.
I don't know what if any trouble you were saved by buying from ebay instead of LaceMamba because I'm not sure what's going on with the LaceMamba site.
I am glad that you were able to obtain a copy.

| ABZ...
Camaro is right. There's nothing that references PAL at all. You should be good to go with the copy you bought. And Hat is also right in that you should expect to have to be patient with a game coming from overseas.
Glad you were able to find a copy.

| Just as a side note, I know that Dave is not having any success getting more copies of Black Mirror 2 (nor Lost Horizon) from the UK. One of our fall tournament winners at MM wanted a copy as his prize, but Dave says he has no idea when it might be available again. | |
