| If Runaway 3 also counts, I'll throw in another vote for that one too. Very good game, but I thought it was a 2009 release. | |

| I think that officially Runaway 3 was released in Europe in November of 09 but I am not so sure that wasn't the download only release. I don't believe it was officially released in North America yet but I could be wrong. I know I wasn't able to acquire a hard copy until early this year so lets count it. | |

And I second that nomination: The Filmmaker. Great, great game.

| For me, Rhem 4 is the best game of the year. | |

And so far that's it.
Hopefully, during Christmas I'll have time to play through Darkstar and Gray Matter.
To the 4 I mentioned earlier I can now add: 5. Gray Matter I still have not played Darkstar.

| It looks like I didn't play too many of the latest games released this year, but does
Theato 1, Theato 2, Theato 3, and Theato 4 count?
Played some of Theato 5 but got stuck, couldn't continue, besides now I got Film Maker to play (have it installed in my netbook) but was down (me not the netbook) with a bug so I didn't play Film Maker at all.
Earlier this year I was catching up on acquiring and playing some of these DOS/Win95/98 oldies, and about a month or so ago - maybe 2 months ago I finished playing one of these oldies - Liath.
However, I managed to start on DarkStar (on my mac) but couldn't continue for lack of a w/t, which I googled in vain for.

Yes. But I realize that doesn't tell you much. I should write a review of it sometime in January.

| Unless you bought the DarkStar Captains Box for $75 you have to purchase the Companion Guide separately if you want a walkthrough. Most sites are not publishing a walkthrough to support this Indie developer. The downloaded PDF Companion Guide can be downloaded from the games web site HERE | |

| Igor no it doesn't tell me much, I would have asked why you enjoyed it or didn't but a review would be good. Please do write one for us. hatshepsut | |

I bought DS on Amazon, GF, in order to try to cut down on costs. I didn't know about this Captain's box, but I've already bought the DARKSTAR Official Guide for $9.95 and have just d/l it. **AlienBZ examines the pdf she just d/l**Yep, it's the walkthrough, all right - I'm glad it didn't cost me much. @Igor: - Igor Hardy wrote:

no, the pdf on the disc was not a w/t, it was a story-kind of book, sort of like what I'd call a "celebration-book".

Good for you AlienBZ. I would be willing to bet That J. Allen Williams has broken the record for how much of their own money an Indie developer has spent on their game and also broken the record for perseverance in the 10 years it took him of bringing his game to us. Kudos to you for your support of him.

Thanks, GF - well in that case, I'll start supporting more indy devs provided their games don't cost me too much when I buy games in the future (2011 and beyond).

| Just finished my 4th 2010 game, The Whispered World, so even if it was bad it earned a place in my top 5. But fortunately it was very good. | |
