A little maths teaser.

Why, in the UK, is the number 54 relevant to today but, in America, today only 'scores' 30?

Hint 1: In the case of yesterday, 38 is relevant to the UK, and 26 to America.

Hint 2: Tomorrow .................. has no relevant numbers associated.

Gelert..

The dates 10th and 11th of January form these binary numbers

11/01/10 = 54
01/11/10 = 30
10/01/10 = 38
01/10/10 = 26

and now tell me how much 'a bad decade' is worth Wink

Is 'a bad decade' worth 1?

Logic? Not much at all really! Just thought you subtract the odd numbered letters in the laphabet from the evn numbered ones. Complete shot in the dark of course?

Otherwise, I need another clue ............ and probably another .... and .....

Is it anything to do with the old school trick of forming words from the numbers on a calculator screen by turning it upside down, or mirror image, etc.? Or, does it involve mathematical formulae on the calculator?
