| Louisiana Adventure, the new game from Silver Play has been released and is available in many e-tailers such as Just adventure or Gamers Gate. The controls are like the ones of Lucius. Keyboard and Mouse combi. The game features fully 3D enviroment and according to information is based on real facts.

| Hmm, reckon it is just me, but somehow "UGH" and "sounds good" isn't really much of a *discussion* about Louisiana Adventure, a game that I know nothing about. Except that it has something to do with Louisiana, maybe? As for Adventure that could be anything these days. Probably not my kind of game anyway, what with keyboard controls, but I just feel like posting to let everyone know I can still type! | |

Your letters and words look very good. You are right as far as discussion goes, how about giving the Demo a try and we could talk about it further?

| mindysue there doesn't seem to be a lot of information about. Lousiana Adventure was developed by an indie company. It took a very long time to get picked up for production. It's a third person perspective. You play an FBI agent who is sent to Louisiana to investigate some seemingly unconnected murders. As time progress it begins to look like a serial killer is at work. The game takes place in the early 1900 hundreds. Louisiana Adventure is based on some true events. These events aren't stated but from the description of murders I'm guessing that it's based on a series of murders that occurred in Illonois in the 40's. A case by the way that Elliot Ness was never able to prove. Coincidently The Black Dahlia and several other people were murdered in similar manner in Calif and the murders stopped at this time in Illinois. Elliot Ness also investigated the murders in Calif. The family of Ness's prime suspect had him committed to an asylum after The Black Dahlia murder and these similar type murders stopped in Illinois and Calif.
I think the story what I know of it sounds good but I have heard that the game is buggy and difficult to maneuver.

| I assume that there are players out there that like this sort of control system but personally I just don't think it works very well in third person view. Both this game and Lucius would be controlled better in first person or at least have the option to switch like in Testament of Sherlock Holmes from 1st to 3rd. | |

| GF I can't think of ever hearing anyone say they liked keyboard control or a combination of keyboard and mouse. I'm assuming there must be some who do like keyboard control since developers continue to make games with keyboard or keyboard and mouse control. For myself I find the keyboard and combinations of keyboard and mouse awkward to use and control in 1st and 3rd perspective.

| Many thanks, hatshepsut, for the info on Louisiana Adventure. I was very interested in the part about The Black Dahlia case as I sort of remember reading newspaper articles about it way back then. Never did know the ending so I''m happy to learn it now. As for Eliot Ness and the earlier Illinois case, I don't have any memory of it, even though I lived in Chicago at about that time. Now, about the game, those keyboard controls will stop me from playing it, plus I'm not too keen on serial killer mysteries. I prefer only one, or maybe two if really necessary, bodies in the mysteries that I read or play. I mean, one can't solve a murder unless one happens, so a single body is a given.
As for you, GreyFuss, I stay away from links I don't know and from demos because I get confused and end up with a mess on my hands ...er... computer. I barely understand what I'm doing on a computer as it is. As a WW2 vereran, I'm practically from the stone age, I was 56 when Tom brought home the first PC of many more to come. So, how about doing me a favor and just telling me what was so UGH about it, the graphics were ugly maybe, or the story segment?

see my last post above...the controls for this game and others like it are atrocious to me.

| I agree with Greyfuss. This kind of controls is not appropriate for adventure gaming. I don't like it either. As far as I know Jack Keane 2 has the option to chose this kind of control too. I fear that if Adventure games are going to be developed in fully 3D enviroment, then this control system will most likely take over from the traditional point'n'click style. | |

| Hah! I haven't read this much negative feedback for controls in an adventure game since Dead Reefs or maybe Grim Fandango | |

| ahh, Grim Fandango controls. They were the worst and it could have been such a GREAT game. jack Keane 2 controls were okay, but, once in a while I had to use the keyboard and the mouse and I found it very awkward.
Tsampikos - I have been trying to get in touch with you. If you read this, please send me a p.m. or answer the email that I sent you. I hope it didn't go into your spam folder. Thanks.
