Although, with Flash software soon to be unsupported and phased out, I'm not sure for how much longer Adventure Point will be accessible.
It's far too large for me to edit and adapt to html.

Well that kinda sucks. Hmm, hopefully an easy migration to something else is still in the cards.

Unfortunately LakerZ, the migration omits a fair amount of the text and screenshots from each of the many hundreds of game pages. I'm hoping that the website will still be accessible, at least for those who know of it and manually enable the soon to be unsupported Flash. We'll see. :\ I'm paying the price of developing my first novice website on a platform that was inevitably to be discontinued. My fault. I had no idea though. I was a beginner back in 2007. www.GelertPhotography.co.uk was created on an updated 'safe' platform. I learnt (too late), from my earlier mistake. All the data for Adventure Point is saved on a 3rd party server, so I can't even save the website for posterity on my own hard drive. Bums!!

I started the website purely as a bit of fun and to take my mind off the fact that I was likely to be laid off from my job (company closing down), in a couple of months, back then in 2007. It was to be a merely a modest little pictorial database for my own collection. I had no idea of how to design a website. No experience of html. I used a major market website builder. A bloody Flash website builder. Anyway, it was going to be a fraction of the size it is now. The website builder/company hosts all websites made by everyone who uses their software packages. I pay a pretty significant amount each year to the website builder company to keep the website alive. It grew . . over time . . and then it was too late (large), to remake in any other way. Around 1500 pages. Yes. I know. I'm mad. Still, it's been fun and, I think, useful, if quirky and a rather retro/garish/slapdash. My first attempt afterall. Under 'no-job soon' stress too. www.GelertPhotography.co.uk is far more decent looking. C'est la vie!

I tried the link and got the message that I need to upgrade my computer or browser or whatever, BUT I don't know how to follow the instructions to upgrade.

what browser are you using? If Chrome look on the right side you should see 3dots.. click on that then click on help.. then about Google Chrome.. it will take you to a page that lets you know if you are up to date or allow you to update.

All this time I didn't realize you're a photographer, Gelert! Your work is wonderful! Have you ever considered entering the nature photography contest at the Natural History Museum in London? Many of your photos would be contenders.

My browser, I just found out after asking Tom, is Internet Explorer. So what should I do now?

Hi LadyK. Just back from a camping trip with puppy and it was great fun, if a bit bonkers. Ha! She's a real busy-body. I have considered it (entering), because a few people have said the same but, to be honest, LadyK, I know what the level is in those competitions and I'm only a novice in comparison. Some photos in big competitions make me droooooool, they're so beautiful. I've been clicking away as a hobby for about 3 years, but perhaps I'll have the courage to enter something biggish one day if I ever feel brave enough. I've won a few tiny village shows here in Wales, but my bravery doesn't extend further tbh. Thankyou for saying such nice things though. I love hearing that someone likes my piccies. x

Thanks a heap everyone, but probably what I really should do is buy a new computer. Howsomever, at 94 and a few days old, I don't feel like coping with anything new.

Wow Gelert. I can only say I'm sorry if flash support ends and all your great work becomes just a moment in time. 1500 pages. So much personal work for what amouts to a really neat museum of the adventure genre. I hope in the end some kind of miracle support can come about to keep the museum accessible to the public when flash is no more. If the worst comes to happen, well...you know I'll always raise a pint glass in your honor.

He-he! Miracles DO happen lakerz, old friend. In truth, I've no idea as to accessibility once this Autumn passes. All appendages crossed dear fellow. It's be a shame to see it go. In the meantime, a (sneaky), pint or two sounds like a good plan! Tee-hee!

Use ANYTHING other that Internet Explorer .
