| Hi bas2888! I'll get the ball rolling. This is one of my favourite threads when someone asks this. The trouble is I find it absolutely impossible to narrow it down to three. A top ten I might - just might - manage, but they'd nearly all be equal first place! :-D. Anyway, here's a set of three of my favourites, picked randomly from my top 10.
Broken Sword: The Shadow Of The Templars The Longest Journey The Secret of Monkey Island . . . . and (sorry to cheat), I'll sneak in some of my other equal favourites if that's okay . . . .
Gabriel Knight 3: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned Discworld Noir Gabriel Knight : Sins Of The Fathers Monkey Island 3: The Curse of Monkey Island Grim Fandango The Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes: Case of the Rose Tattoo Broken Sword 2: The Smoking Mirror

Your right, 3 is to narrow... But when I make a top 10 I surely will forget a lot. Played just so many games in the past few years, sometimes I even forget the best ones.
Like now, just when I began typing this, I was thinking that Syberia had to appear in my top 3 as well.

| The 3 games that come on the strongest in my memory bank are: 1. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (That opening with the credits is the funniest ever and the rest is equally great. Played it 6 times.) 2. King's Quest 4: The Perils of Rosella (So many scenes still replay in my mind. This was one of the early games that I actually finished, even played a second time.) 3. Syberia (After a hiatus of almost 5 years, this is the game that brought me back in April, 2005. I played the 2 parts back-to-back as one big, fantastic adventure!) | |

| jkeerie that robot laser puzzle in Still Life was one of the hardest I've ever done. It had me pulling my hair out for days in frustration I think I finally had to print out a map to get past it. hatshepsut | |

| Oh, I will never forget that robot laser puzzle. I did it over so many times I was half-expecting to run out of robots! I found a map somewhere that helped me, too. Another problem I had with that robot was not always knowing which way it was facing, so that accounted for some wrong moves, sometimes even before I reached the laser beams. I stayed with it though and even managed to get it right finally. Only to reach that strange ending. I thought I missed something, but then I read that others had the same questions about it that I did. Otherwise it was a really neat game. | |

| I ended up getting a saved game to just get past that part...the only one I ever needed. I found the diagram later and the advice to use the arrows on the keyboard. I just haven't had the desire to replay it. | |

| The robot puzzle has kept me from doing a replay or wanting to do a replay also. I've never understood why developers feel the need to put an almost unbeatable puzzle like that in an otherwise enjoyable game. hatshepsut | |

| Since the puzzle was near the end of the game, I'm thinking they had cash flow problems and just didn't have enough money to finish the game properly, considering how up-in-the-air it ended. I seem to have read they went bankrupt or something right around that time. It was a great game up to that point. I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt about making the robot puzzle deliberately hard, which is more than I give some other game-makers. | |
