| Interact! now has Bracken Tor listed as coming soon. Just a reminder that 2011 is an estimate only and could be released earlier or later. Also be reminded that this game is an import and the number of games that Interact gets may be limited.

| Just checked the preview and the screenshots of the game . Somehow this game turns me off, being that there's ripped up animal bodies (dead), the game is basically another murder mystery (which I had enough of, don't care for any more), the game seems to be taking place in the dead of night - these screenshots made me think of Halloween night. This is only my personal impression of Bracken Tor, but others might really love this kind of a game - if you do, go for it! | |

| You can read about Bracken Tor On the Horizon here at Adventure Point Bracken Tor I am sorry that the game doesn't appeal to you. Matt Clark is a very talented independent developer. Many of us have been anxiously awaiting the release of this game. Many strange and paranormal things go on in Cornwall as we saw in Barrow Hill. Hopefully Matt will bring us many more adventures. ABZ feeling the way you do about Bracken tor are you aware that all the games you are currently seeking involve murder, various acts of violence, thievery, insanity, the annihilation of the human race and other questionable acts of immorality? hatshepsut | |

Sounds like in many of these games the human race is bent of self-destruction, and the player enters the scene as the gameworld's "saviour"? Yes, I'm quite aware of this. While the first Barrow Hill (which I have, due for a replay) wasn't so bloody and gory IIRC, and the first Black Mirror had some blood and gore in it, yet I'm after getting BM 2 & 3, and I have Sinking Island, all the Thief games (Eidos/Looking Glass Studios), several CSI games (all of which I've played, saw blood, a bit of gore in), Harvester (which I'm currently playing; it, too, has blood/gore, but I have it set to "censored" mode), I also have Overclocked (due for a replay; I recall the MC got angry at one point in the game and acted out in a violent rage, busting the phone in his hotel room after his wife called him to say she was divorcing him) , most of these games that I'm after (and these I have) take place during day light hours with a few night time scenes, the reason I don't care too much for Bracken Tor is cuz I do screenshot captures of my gameplay which I use to create graphic novels, and I sort of have to be careful of the colors/how dark vs how colorful the screenshots are, since I know that if I did a graphic novel of Bracken Tor and I showed it to my 82 year old mom (who is not an adventure gamer but a casual solitaire gamer), she would probably tell me (based on her opinion) that such pictures would turn people off as they're all "black/dark pictures" taken at night time, but I'd certainly love to hear your opinion of such a graphic novel, Hat (not for commercial use), as well as opinions from any other Pointers even I give this graphic novel with a Christian theme? And gee, I don't want my graphic novels of these gameplay screenshots to be exclusively for the adult audience, I'd also like to do graphic novels (with a Christian theme, of course) usuing screenshots from games such of the Rhems, Aura, Sacred Rings, Pompei, Ark of Time, Heaven, PR Immortals of Terra, Darkstar (but I'll leave out the "adult scenes"), Celtica, Liath, Qin, etc, and make these cater to a PG- 13/G audience. What do you guys think? And then again, I still might consider getting Bracken Tor - but that's way, way down at the bottom of the want list. Are you trying to tell me, Hat, that traditional, classic adventure games are now moving into the violent side? Like watching a violent movie? If so, can't the screenshots depicting violent scenes be omitted from my graphic novels?

| ABZ I'm a little confused I thought you said that you objected to Bracken Tor because of the dead animals.
ABZ many of the adventure games have one or more aspect of stealing, lying, murder, breaking and entering, questionable treatment of animals, etc, etc, etc. This aspect (or violence) is nothing new, it has been part of many adventure games from the beginning of adventure games.

Well, I changed my mind - I'm after getting Bracken Tor. Besides, I can always edit out the dead animals in the screenshots with my Photoshop skills before using them in my comics so it'll look more pleasing to the eye, and I can change the story to make it more pleasing. - hatshepsut wrote:

Gee, I was totally unaware of this. So, an AG is like a novel where people (the gamers) are interested in bad news that happens to someone else (the characters in the game), only no one knows why this bad thing happened to this person in the game, and it's up to the gamers to unravel the mystery and find out why it happened? If so, I guess this is why I'm bored with TV game shows (Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, Minute to Win It, etc) and I perk up a little when the 11 PM news comes on TV as long as it's not happening to me or anyone I know?

Gee, I was totally unaware of this. ABZ..Now I am curious what kind of adventure games you have been playing that don't have any of what Hats has mentioned in them.

Gee, I was totally unaware of this. [font=Comic Sans Ms]ABZ..Now I am curious what kind of adventure games you have been playing that don't have any of what Hats has mentioned in them. Well, to tell the truth, Ang, none that don't have what Hat mentioned b/c lately I've been playing Harvester and Darkstar off and on. I guess games that don't have what Hat mentioned in them might be Aura, the Rhems (I only finished Rhem 1, didn't get a chance to finish Rhem 2 before I gave my old HP Compaq Presario X6000 laptop to my nephew upon getting my mac, and my memory is sort of foggy whether or not if there's any instances of crime or sin taking place in these games as it's been several years since I gave my old laptop away), never played Rhem 3 & 4, so I'm not sure if the Rhems and Aura are 100 % free of crime/sin, what about Quiet Weekend in Capri or AnaCapri the Dream (played a good bit into this before parting with the old laptop), Promised Land, Riven, RealMyst, Myst 3, 4, & 5, but I know definately that Heaven would be a promising game as I believe it is 100 % free of vice. And what about Jerusalem 3 Roads to the Holy Land (these I hadn't played, but I played Riven, RealMyst, Myst 3 & 4, and Aura)?
