| I'm trying to find some good Match-3 games. Any suggestions, anyone?
At the present time I'm playing Runefall and I'm thinking it's going to be the *rune* of me! It's a great game and I mean GREAT as in BIG with loads of stuff to do while also matching tiles like crazy. It takes me over an hour to play a level, but I'm a slow player and playing in the Relaxed mode. There is a Timed version for those who like to play quickly with more points and challenges. There's more to the game than matching, one has to explore and find hidden keys to open treasure chests, and also to find tools to open up areas for further exploring. It's too complicated for me to explain, check it out for yourself if you like Match-3 games. Or even if you have never played them, who knows, you might get hooked. P.S. There is a nice story, too.

| I ve only played a few match 3 games. A couple of the Jewel Quest games, they were ok and Zuma , I'm not sure if you could call that a true match 3 game though. And Atlantis Quest which is the most irritating and frustrating ever created.

| Yes, I agree with you, hatshepsut, some Match-3 games can be very irritating and frustrating! That's why I'm trying to get some help in finding some good games.
Going through my messy notebook, I found very few Match-3's that I actually was able to finish and then add "Good Game" after it. One of the best games I ever played was Cave Quest (back in 2011) and I still can recall how much I liked it. The game was different from most because you made matches while moving through a cave so it was easy to see you were making progress as the story unfolded. More recently I played Floria last July with notation "Nice Game" but I don't really remember it now. The next game was Jewel Legends: Atlantis which I didn't finish, added "BORING!" One other nice game was Spooky Bonus, which you might guess was played in October.
I'm still playing Runefall (Level 23) and trying to decide whether I like it or not?

| Bejeweled is a pretty good match 3 game. Zuma is pretty good. The Fishdom games are pretty good and you can build an aquarium with that game.
That cave game sounds interesting.

| I've played through 4 Elements 1 and the sequel, and I thought both were decent. Kind of a hybrid match 3/HOG type game but mostly match 3. I prefer HOG to match 3 myself so don't play pure match 3 games. You may want to visit the bigfishgames website and parse through their selection of match 3 filtered by highest rankings. I think one can do that at least? | |

| Yes I believe you can filter the games that way. Jewels of Cleopatra is a good little match 3 game. A little bit of a story and a few puzzles .

| A fun match 3 game is Ancient Quest of Saqqarah. There are 12 temples, each one of a different Egyptian god, and each one has a different type of match 3 puzzle. It's a big game with many levels, and I have only one temple to finish at the gold level. | |

| Ancient Quest of Saqqarah sounds familiar, I'll have to look it up and see if I've played it.

| I'm playing Ancient Quest of Saqqarah now and I got the key to open the 7th temple, but I don't see any more temples to open. I haven't completed any of the 24 levels in any temple as yet, so I'm wondering if more temples will show up after I finish the ones I have? I'm okay with only 7 temples though as it is going to take me some time to finish with these, more might be too many for me, do like the game so far. | |

| Yes, there are only 7 temples, not 12 in Saqqarah. I played the game for so long that it seemed like more. I think Thoth is the most difficult temple. I'm still trying to get through the silver levels there. | |

| Back in Feb. I was playing Runefall and on Level 23 and trying to decide whether to continue or quit. Decision: Quit.
Now I'm in a quandary over another Match-3. Legend of Egypt: Jewels of the Gods and just finished Level 107 and how I got this far I will never know. I've been trying to quit this game for some time because I wasn't making progress when suddenly something happened and I made progress so kept playing. It is like the game is reading my mind and every time I decide I've had enough and will quit, I get an upgrade of some kind, maybe a bonus or power-up or a new building, whatever, and decide to keep trying. I don't even know what triggered it, so I don't have a clue when I'm doing something right.

| Final update on Legend of Egypt: Jewels of the Gods ... somewhere around Level 133 the game let me buy a building and suddenly I got a cutscene saying the city was now beautiful and the Gods cured the Pharaoh's wife and he was very happy. Okay, that should be the end of the game and credits should roll, except it wasn't and the game continued as there seemed to be more upgrading of buildings to finish. I liked the game so I stayed with it until I somehow clicked on something on the screen and the game just ended, then and there. Don't know what went wrong. From that point on all I could find was the starting menu of the game. All-in-all, it was a fun game to play while it lasted. BTW, the credits show that the game was made by magnussoft with only 8 people, rather than a list that goes on forever. | |

| From June to December for a Christmas theme Match 3 game: Laruaville 4 ... kind of an easy game, but Christmasy and fun. Lots of action in this game with fireworks and all sorts of explosions going on that make for quickly finishing a level and moving on.
Speaking of moving on: In the level (5, I think) I just played, the game came on with a notice that I seemed to be having a problem and did I want to skip this level, which surprised me because I didn't know I had a problem. Figured if I didn't even realize there was a problem, I was already in deep trouble, so yes, I skipped.
Well, I did say it was an easy game, didn't I?

| Hi, Casual Gamers ... Here's an update on the Laruaville Match-3 series of 4 games. According to my notes, I first played Laruaville 2 and "Liked it enough to buy Laruaville 4" on the same day I finished game 2. Game 4 was the Christmas-themed game mentioned above. When I finished it, I went straight to Laruaville (#1) and then to Laruaville 3, which I'm trying to finish now. This game is tough and takes a long time for me to finish a level, especially since I have had to do some over! The devs added a new gimmick in this game that makes it harder. So hard, in fact, that I'm not sure I will be able to finish it, although I am close to the end. Wish me luck! | |

| Hi Y'all ... I did get lucky, I'm happy to say, and managed to finish Laruaville 3 and now I am hoping that there will be another one some day. This one had a four seasons theme and started out with Spring and ended with Winter, and the village scenery changed with the seasons. The ending with the snow was especially neat. All in all, the whole game was a lot of FUN and well worth the money and time spent on it. In my not-so-humble opinion, of course. | |

| It looks like I'm lucky again as I found another Match-3 game by the same makers as the Laruaville series! This one is Cursed House 3, maybe not quite as nicely scenic as Lauraville, but just as good game-wise, with all the bells and whistles and actions going for it. I'm playing #3, haven't played either #1 or #2. | |

| I'm currently playing an adventure-LITE HOG called 'Escape From Thunder Island' that is decent. Developed by Big Finnish Games which is run by the guys behind the Tex Murphy games as well as the reboot one.
I have to admit, not so much into the match 3 games nor the time management games. But it is nice to have all these genres available for those who do.

| Hi lakerz, I've been looking for Escape from Thunder Island at BFG and can't find it. The name sounds familiar to me though, like maybe I played it some time ago. I'm going to check out my list of purchased games and see if I can find it there. | |

| Escape From Thunder Island
It is a bit of a throwback. Cutscenes are static but there are voice overs. Some decent puzzles and a variety of location to explore. I continue to get stuck here or there, but there is a map feature that shows which locations still have things to do there or puzzles to solve, inventory items to find, etc.

| Here's an update on the Laruaville series: Laruaville 5 has arrived and I am having another great time playing this game. I bought it as soon as I saw the name Laruaville 5 at BFG without even stopping to look at the screenshots or reading any of the reviews, didn't even check on how many stars it received. I was that ready and happy to find it. And now I'm enjoying playing it as much as I enjoyed the others in the series. If you like Match-3 games even a little bit, give this one a try. | |
